Biography

Genre: Electro/Dance/Pop
Members: Seth Anderson & Jax Anderson
Hometown: Detroit, MI

Flint Eastwood (formally known as POWER) is a creative electro-pop collective from Detroit, MI, spearheaded by siblings Seth and Jax Anderson. Drawing heavy influences anywhere from spaghetti-western film scores to memorable Top 40 hooks, their eclectic sound earned the band first place in the 2010 nationwide College Battle of the Bands contest. As a result, the duo has since opened for big-name acts such as T-Pain and OutKast's Big Boi, and signed a management deal with Bonded Entertainment. This year, Flint Eastwood landed an on-screen musical performance of their song "Billy the Kid" in the upcoming major motion picture Renee starring Kat Dennings, Chad Michael Murray and Rupert Friend. Their hit "Can You Save Me?" is also featured as the theme song for the #1 rated show on the USA Network, Covert Affairs.

Flint Eastwood's main goal is to inspire anyone and everyone wanting and willing to pursue a path less followed. Though they write, record and produce every song they create, Flint Eastwood believes their product is not their own. It is acknowledged that every word, sound, question and idea that goes into Flint Eastwood is shaped by outside sources. Whether it be a photograph seen years ago, a film viewed days ago, a conversation that took place weeks ago, a situation that was taken in from afar, a homeless human speaking what seems to be nonsense, a stranger they will never meet again or wise words directed from a friend, every inspiration that Flint Eastwood draws from is a part of Flint Eastwood.

POWER changes their name to Flint Eastwood!!

21 Feb 2012

Here's a little something that Jax and Seth wrote up about their name change!

"As of Feburary 16, 2012, we are no longer writing and performing under the name POWER. POWER is dead. POWER is long gone (PLEASE KEEP READING). POWER is like a significant other that you’ve dated for years, only to find that you’re a french press and they’re a coffee pot. You’re a reader and they’re a ‘watch the movie version instead’. You’re a fine wine and they’re a smirnoff ice. You’re this and they’re this. You’ve perfected your craft and they still say things like ‘one of these days i’m going to master needle point’ (FREAKING DO IT ALREADY). I know what you’re thinking: and we’ll tell you first - we are not breaking up as a band. We’ve matured (some) and have decided to take our craft to another level. One which requires a fresh start. Not to say that we don’t appreciate our time in POWER or have any negative connotation with it - we feel we’ve reached a new stepping point.

Developing a name for a project is like getting a new tattoo: You want it to best symbolize the point you want to make and the feeling you have while not making yourself ashamed of your barbed wire arm band 10 years later. A project name is with you for the entire duration of your time creating. We’ve thought, we’ve processed, we’ve group voted, and the choice has been made: we will now be creating under the name Flint Eastwood."
